You design what must never be allowed to fail.

Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering en Project Engineering

What you design

Everything from a technical challenge to an energy system that performs when it matters most.

At Zwart, you work on customised emergency power systems, UPS systems and BESS battery storage solutions. You think ahead, make calculations and develop the design further. How do the components fit together? What are the site requirements? And what will then be needed to build, test and maintain the system successfully?

From design to operational system

As a mechanical, electrical or project engineer, you contribute your own individual professional expertise to the project as a whole. From the mechanical configuration and electrical schematics, you work to coordinate all the different technical aspects of the project.

You make every detail count.

You translate the client’s requirements into drawings, calculations and specifications that your colleagues can work from. While doing so, you work closely together with other engineers, project managers, workshop teams and commissioning engineers. You discuss decisions, check the details and continue to be involved throughout construction and testing.

This means that you get to see how your design becomes a reality. In a hospital, a data centre or an industrial environment where people need to be able to completely rely on it.

How you ensure everything works perfectly.

Depending on your role, you will be working on:

  • Mechanical designs, structures and fuel, cooling and ventilation systems;
  • Electrical schematics, power calculations and installation control systems;
  • Integrating and coordinating the various technical disciplines within a project;
  • Selecting components and developing client specifications into practical solutions;
  • Drawings, calculations and documentation for construction, installation and testing;
  • Solving technical challenges during construction and commissioning.

Because failure isn’t an option

A data centre that keeps running. An operation that can proceed. A production line that doesn’t come to a halt. You don’t always see what your designs make possible. But everything does start with the decisions that you and your colleagues make together.

That’s why you look beyond your own drawings. You see the impact that a single detail has on the rest of the system. You ask more questions, coordinate with others and work together to find a solution that will work when put into practice.

Each project demands something different from your expertise. That’s why you’re given the freedom to immerse yourself in the technology and to stay involved while your design is built and tested. All the way through, until everything works exactly as it must.

After all,

You know what's at risk.

“Just one small technical detail. A single component that doesn’t fit. And suddenly, there’s a lot more at risk.”

Harold

Teamlead Project Engineers

“Iedereen denkt dat ik teken. Maar eigenlijk puzzel ik hoe ieder onderdeel en iedere aansluiting samenkomt, nog voordat we het bouwen.”

Laura

Mechanical Engineer

"I know what’s at risk if the power cuts out. So whenever I work on a connection / switching operation, I think very carefully about what’s required to keep our system running so we can assure continuous power.”
