Knowing what is happening
Harold Nijholt leads the project engineering team and also works on projects as a project engineer himself. He deals with technical questions, specifications, designs and coordination with customers and suppliers. He deliberately stays close to the projects, so he knows what is happening and what his colleagues are dealing with.
When one detail affects everything
Because in a project, so much is connected. An unanswered technical question, missing information from a supplier or a design that is not checked in time can affect everything that follows. Harold compares it to dominoes: “You really are building one thing after another. If one domino does not fall, the next one will not fall either.”

“One technical detail. One component that does not fit. And suddenly, there is much more at stake.”

Finding the right solution quickly
That became very clear last year, on a project involving six panels being built by a panel builder. A component supplied by the customer turned out to have a manufacturing defect. The first panel fitted, but on the next panel, the coupling did not fit. A solution was needed quickly to modify the panels and prevent further delays.
Progress must not come to a halt
Harold worked with the parties involved to find the cause and explore possible solutions. Because when one component is wrong, the impact goes beyond the technical work. Schedules, transport, storage and workshop activities can all be affected. That is when it matters to keep track of the whole project, bring the information together and get things moving again.
What Harold keeps moving: technical progress between the customer, supplier and workshop.
Unseen. Essential.

NEVER IN THE DARK · MARTE
When fitting a generator coupling, every thousandth of a millimetre counts. Marte gets it right in the workshop, before the customer has to rely on it.

NEVER IN THE DARK · DANIEL
Using wiring diagrams and measurements, Daniël tracks down faults. So backup power at hospitals and data centres works when it matters most.
