Together we are consuming increasing amounts of electricity, and at the same time there is a significant increase in electricity coming from renewable sources. This couple with a drive to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels is putting significant pressure on the electricity grid and increasing the likelihood of outages. In 2017 there were over 20,000 electricity outages in The Netherlands alone – 55 per day!

‘Pretty standard’ for us
Lidl required an emergency power system that works properly, is reliable and requires no further attention thanks to maintenance and service support from Zwart. “Pretty standard really,” was how our project leader summed it up. The slightly longer version goes like this: an emergency power generator (Doosan diesel engine and Mecc Alte generator) in a custom canopy, installed on location. A complete fuel system with external air intake and outlet channels. Zwart delivered its own ZT2000 control system as well as the engineering, project management and building, testing and commissioning of the generator. Experience gained on prior Lidl projects proved invaluable. It’s where Zwart made the difference to the customer. And that is pretty standard for us.

Our customers also receive the same high level of attention through training and knowledge sharing our training centre equipped with a state-of-the-art simulator.
