Our client is a global leader in colocation services, data centers that keep the digital economy running. And one thing is sacred: continuity. Servers must keep running. Always.
The challenge
A backup power solution was needed that wasted no space, could grow with future demands, and would perform under extreme conditions.
The site imposed strict requirements on design and execution:
- Extremely limited space, requiring every centimetre to be optimised
- Harsh rock formations complicating fuel infrastructure
- Operation under ambient temperatures of up to 48 °C
- Delivery within a very tight schedule
- Modular design for easy future upgrades or replacements
The solution
Zwart Techniek was closely involved from the start of the engineering process. This early collaboration enabled the design of a solution perfectly suited to the location and its technical challenges.
- 10 × 3300 kVA containerised MTU units
- Smart stacking for maximum power density
- 12 MW on a footprint of just 120 m²
- Remote radiators engineered for extreme heat
- Custom fuel tank built into solid rock
- Interchangeable configuration for fast replacement
- Fully integrated noise reduction measures
Design, construction, installation, and service were all carried out by Zwart, ensuring quality at every stage.
