You build what must never be allowed to fail.

EMERGENCY POWER TECHNICIAN

This is what you build

Everything from individual components to an entire emergency power system that works at the crucial moment.

From individual components to indispensable technology

In our workshop, you build generators, switchgear, UPS systems and cabling into complete systems that have to work perfectly at moments when every second counts.

From the initial sketch to the final operational system

Zwart builds and delivers customised emergency power and UPS systems. In our workshop in IJmuiden, these systems are assembled, tested and prepared for transportation to the client.

As an installation or assembly technician / engineer, you’re responsible for building the system. Technical drawings guide you as you work on generators, switchgear, UPS systems, cabling and other electrical components. Every little detail matters, as your installation / system will be deployed in environments where failure can have major consequences.

Sometimes, you may work on client sites to assist with installation and initial testing. This way, you’ll get to see your own work being put into operation.

Depending on your role, you will either work mainly in our Ijmuiden workshop or install, test and maintain your systems at sites in the Netherlands and abroad.

What you do to ensure it all works

  • Assemble emergency power and UPS systems from technical drawings;
  • Install generators, switchgear, UPS systems and cabling;
  • Test and inspect systems before handover;
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics;
  • Work closely with engineers and commissioning engineers;
  • Prepare systems for transportation, and sometimes assist with on-site installation.

Because failure is not an option

At Zwart, you don’t just build ordinary systems. Those that you assemble are destined for hospitals, data centres and industrial environments.  Places where a power outage can have immediate and major consequences.

You know where your work will be used and how it has to perform at crucial moments. It’s a weighty professional responsibility: each individual component, connection and inspection counts.

You know what’s at risk.

“From separate components to an emergency power system that truly works. At the end of the process, you can see what you’ve built together and understand why each and every detail counts.”
